| About the Town of Orangetown |
Orangeburg straddles the Palisades Interstate Parkway and it is one of the busiest courts in the County and in the state of New York. Troopers hang out in the meridians of the PIP and they give out thousands of tickets each year. The court is so busy that it can take at least a year to get a court date. The Court staff is extremely pleasant, even after taking a lot of abuse from irate drivers who blame them for their tickets. The pleasant staff helps makes it easier to resolve matters there. The speed limit on the PIP can be 50 or 55 so, watch out, because a 71 mph in a 50 can already bring you 6 points. Local streets are patrolled by the Orangetown Police Department. Watch out for red light and stop sign tickets there, one of the judges does not allow plea bargaining on them. Orangetown is a triangle shaped town within the County of Rockland. It borders New Jersey on 2 sides, the Hudson river on one side and Clarkstown to the north. Orangetown was first settled around 1680. |
