About the Village of Spring Valley

Spring Valley is a busy village with a eclectic mixture of Caribbean peoples, Chassidic Jews and Latin Americans. The Village is patrolled by the aggressive and capable Spring Valley Police Department. I appear in this court regularly and have resolved hundreds of traffic cases and criminal cases over the years. It is the only court with a full time Spanish and Creole translator, Mr. Jean Simon. The other Justices are Hon. David Fried and Hon. Djinsad Desir Occasionally, the NY State police issues tickets for speeding on Route 59 near the Thruway, especially near the Mc'donald's there. Traffic court usually moves quickly, no pun intended, so get there early. There is usually a long wait to plea bargain but then it goes quickly once in front of the judge. There are a lot of arrests for drugs in Spring Valley.

Typical Violations heard in this court.  Buidling and Fire Code Violations, Garbage on Property, Painting without a license, doing electrical contracting work, home improvement or plumbing work without a license.
